Requirements

• Players who have not applied by the deadline date will not be permitted to try out for Team BC. Registration Deadline: Monday, February 14, 2022 to BCLA Office by 4:00 PM.
• All players must be registered in Women's Field Lacrosse, with the BC Lacrosse Association, for the 2021-2022 playing season and 2022-2023 playing season.
• Team BC will be presenting the 2022 Women's Field Lacrosse Travel Program that will take place February to December 2022. There are five divisions - Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshman and Middle School - see team explanations below.
• Players will be required to pay the Provincial Tryout Camp $150.00 registration fee. Payment must be made with submission of the online application payable to the BC Lacrosse Association.
• All athletes, for each division, will participate in the Provincial Tryout Camp, for the purpose of selecting a team of approximately 18 players and 2 goaltenders. Each team will be selected to represent British Columbia at travel tournaments and events noted below.
• Athlete participants will receive a Team BC reversible lacrosse pinnie, a t-shirt, water bottle, refreshments, field time, coaching and the cost of officials. Provincial Tryout Camps will take place February 19 -20, 2022. Times and locations noted below.

Financial Commitment & Information

Team BC Senior (2023 Grad Year - BORN 2005/2004) Youth Team - Female athletes in Grade 12

Team BC Junior (Grade 11 - BORN 2006) Youth Team - Female athletes in Grade 11

Team BC Sophomore (Grade 10 - BORN 2007) Youth Team - Female athletes in Grade 10

All Senior, Junior and Sophomore athletes who are registered with the BCLA and committed to a community-based Club Team of which the players are mandated to participate in a minimum of 50% of the teams games. If travel is permitted and tournaments available, the Senior, Junior and Sophomore teams will participate in the IWLCA Champions Cup (Maryland - June 17-19, 2022) and IWLCA Presidents Cup (Texas - Nov. 18-20, 2022). The cost to the athlete including training sessions, travel, accommodations, food, uniform and gear will be approximately $4,500.00. PLEASE NOTE: The final amount could increase, depending on the amount of fundraising the team does, the US exchange rates and any COVID-19 related testing costs.

NOTE: U19 Women's Field athletes selected to a Team BC Women's Field team will be eligible to try out for a roster position and compete at the proposed Lacrosse Canada Women's Field Lacrosse Nationals August 2022 in Alberta. This opportunity will be an additional cost of approximately $2,000 (TBD).

All Freshman and Middle School athletes who are registered with the BCLA and committed to a community-based Club Team of which the players are mandated to participate in a minimum of 50% of the Teams games. Program Information

Entering its 11th year of operation, the BCLA Team BC Women's Field Lacrosse Travel Program is preparing for another year of developing female lacrosse student athletes. Team BC Technical Co-ordinators and Coaches have assisted over 90 female athletes in obtaining scholarships to US Colleges and Universities. Our program is structured to provide the fundamentals, specialized skill enhancement and game strategies required for all athletes to take their lacrosse game to next level.

If selected to a travel team, Team BC is a cost-based high performance lacrosse travel program. At the end of the travel program, if there are any remaining funds, they will be distributed equally amongst participating team members. The all-inclusive cost of the program means that all of the team fees collected from parents are applied directly to the cost to run the program, which include: Team uniform & apparel, team air travel & ground transportation, tournament fees, meals, professionally produced video highlight package, College/University recruitment assistance and up to 40 hours of training.

Note: All Team BC high performance program scheduling is subject to change under the direction and order of the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) during the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. Team BC is currently planning for all training and competitions knowing travel and activity restrictions will determine our capacity to manage such activities. If events are cancelled and travel not permitted, other high performance activities will be co-ordinated. As safety restrictions change, sport will change and we'll adhere to the guidelines permitted for the safety and well-being of all participants.
